What should I pay attention to when scattering ashes at sea?

  1. Applicants should first fill in the application form on government website on your own for scattering of ashes (except for pets), [APPLICATION FOR SCATTERING OF CREMATED HUMAN ASHES IN HONG KONG WATERS] click the link

  2. ​Due to the restriction from the government on the ashes scattering area, we are deeply sorry that we could not offer any other locations, only east of Grass Island, east of Tung Lung Chau, south of West Lamma Strait are available.

  3. Family and friends are allowed to scatter ashes and a handful of fresh petals. Food, sacrificial offering or any other items are strictly prohibited to be thrown into the sea.

  4. If there are fishing boats and other vessels at the approved locations,  ashes must be scattered to the sea away from these vessels' location.

  5. If there are dolphins at the approved location, ashes must be scattered into the sea after all the dolphins have left.

 

 

 

 

 

​A new type of  plastic bag is equipped on the ship which can melt when exposed to water.

Plastic bags generally remain on the earth for 150 to 500 years before they decomposed, but our latest water-soluble plastic bags could decomposed within 2 to 5 minutes. It start melting once it is put in water which could avoid pollution to the environment when people throw into the sea.
